A Word From the Academic Director

New Year – New ”aallot”

The end of 2009 marks an important transition point for the TKK Executive School of Business and TKK as a whole. Aalto University will be inaugurated on January 1, and TKK, HSE, and TAIK will be integrated into the new university. For the TKK Executive School this transition will mean a merger with the HSE Executive Education Program starting on April 1. By combining the undisputed strength of these two flagship executive education organizations, Aalto University will be able to build a stronger executive education partner for Finnish and international companies, and most importantly their executives.

Leadership seminar was organized in Slovenia in August

On May 19 2009, TKK Executive School of Business organized the 20th Anniversary Seminar of the TKK MBA Programs at the historical building of Pörssitalo in Helsinki.

Finance seminar in Boston in November

About 35 TKK MBA students participated in an international MBA module of the TKK Executive School of Business in Boston in November. The seminar program comprised a combination of lectures, open and case discussions, company presentations, and some extra-curricular activities.

Christmas greetings

The TKK MBA office offered the traditional rice porridge breakfast to TKK MBA alumni on Tuesday, December 15. It was a pleasure to wish “Merry Christmas” to so many MBA alumni in person. This year we are not sending any Christmas cards, but instead we have donated the money to Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry (The Association of Friends of the University Children's Hospitals).

TKK MBA 2009 intake profile

The TKK MBA 20th anniversary year MBA intake in 2009 have got off to a great start with their studies. The core numbers of the intake are

The world will be a very different place when this TKK MBA class graduates in about two years from now. Let’s hope that the capital markets will be steady again and the prospects for continued growth will seem positive. In the meanwhile, the TKK MBA studies will definitely help our MBA students to overcome the challenges that these turbulent times and 2010 will bring.
