Tailored eMBA Program for Kesko

TKK Executive School tailored an in-company eMBA program for Kesko, who is the leading provider of services in the Finnish trading sector. The program was titled as K-Retail eMBA, and had a strong retail and service business perspective. The program started in 2007 and lasted for 1,5 years. The program was targeted for experienced executives and professionals from Kesko’s organization.

Riitta Laitasalo, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, at Kesko comments: “Besides the networking effects and the accumulation of knowledge, the program delivers also concrete business results through the individual student projects that focus on pragmatic business problem solving. The part-time study process enables the participants to complete the studies flexibly alongside their normal managerial work.”

The KPMG LYHTY Program

KPMG, one of the leading professional advisory firms in Finland, puts a lot of emphasis on developing professional skills and competences of its personnel. Recruitment of professionals becoming more and more challenging makes also the competence development and in-house generation of future management crucial to success.

KPMG started a targeted KPMG LYHTY Program for senior managers in 2001 and finds it an excellent tool for developing both internal dialogue and skills in issues of key importance to KPMG.

The Strategic Management Program

The Strategic Management Program is an example of a combined competence development and strategy implementation program developed for a client who prefers to remain anonymous. This client had grown rapidly through multiple acquisitions and was looking for a tool to develop a shared conceptual framework and add to its strategy execution capability.

TKK Executive School of Business developed and implemented a program based upon the strategy of the client in which groups of managers went through four modules built around key topics of the client’s strategy. To facilitate strategy implementation these managers executed strategy projects in cross-functional teams. The program was over several years rolled out across several management layers.
